While playing shows in South Africa between 2008 and early 2010 Reigndear had 100 copies of Good Old Fashioned Life Afterbirth pressed for placing in various stores in and round South Africa as well as for selling at shows and sending to anyone who had requested a copy.

"We have always seen the Good Old Fashioned project as having 2 parts, the first being the 3 disc release and then a more commercial 2nd release encompassed on a single disc and sold in stores as the 'album' Good Old Fashioned Life Afterbirth was the birth of that concept, picking a few tracks here and there from the other still evolving records and making a brand new album out of them."

Featuring all of Reigndear's 4 currently mastered tracks and a large number of talented guests, Good Old Fashioned Life Afterbirth as all of Reigndear's releases promises to be an album that grows on you every listen you give it.

"We were really opposed to the idea of using any instruments that were digital or midi for the recordings, I spoke with Johnny about this and he collected a few of his favorite musician friends and we had a great cast of people contributing to the tracks he had recorded and was producing at the time."

Reigndear have devised a “Full Transparency” concept for the final single disc release of Good Old Fashioned Life Afterbirth.

“It always astounds me that we have to wait until artists die before we are allowed to listen to the demos and early works, with the Good Old Fashioned project, we are hoping to release our records the way life intended, in order. We as a band felt that this project should be concieved, gestate and grow until it’s final maturity, we have been doing this silently, as life does, for sometime now and have decided to finally make this concept known.”

As time goes on the band will be adding new tracks and eventually, mastered versions which will be available only for purchase, but hope that fans will collect the free and unmastered versions and enjoy the growth and final blooming, the way honeybees enjoy the coming of spring.

“We understand that some people might hate this concept, yet we know that many will love it and cherish this opportunity to be a part of our bands birth, it’s a gift to the fans who have helped keep us positive and pressing on, through poverty and near starvation, day jobs and days when making these records just seems impossible for people facing the challenges we face in it’s realization, Thank-you all.”
