Recorded in Taiwan, South Africa and England — Good Old Fashioned Birth became the record that Reigndear first began mailing out to fans who had requested a physical CD.
"At the time we had an online presence, but didn't have anything physical to send out, so we compiled Good Old Fashioned Birth, which included our first studio track — Hurse, recorded by Andy Long at DVP studios in Taiwan, the first Reigndear song ever — [your imagination goes here], plus a few recordings done on a 4 track, and later, Johnny's fully produced and mastered version of Blackeyes recorded toward the end of 2008."
Good Old Fashioned Birth is best described as the birth of Reigndear's 3 album project Death, Birth & Life.
"The Death, Birth & Life Album project encompasses life as a whole through the eyes of Reigndear, and we have tried to make things as natural as possible for the recording and release, at first we put Good Old Fashioned Birth up online and were surprised at how many people requested a copy of the handmade discs, we sat for hours making these and sent them out for free to anyone who wanted one, Good Old Fashioned Birth was a celebration, we were birthing this thing known as Reigndear and we wanted all guests to have a copy — the way you want everyone drunk at a baby shower."
Good Old Fashioned Birth will lull you, surprise you, get you humming, even whistling, and it will definitely have you pressing play over and over again.

Reigndear have devised a “Full Transparency” concept for the 3 Disc release of Birth, Life & Death.
“It always astounds us that we have to wait until artists die before we are allowed to listen to the demos and early works, with the Good Old Fashioned project, we are hoping to release our records the way life intended, in order. We as a band felt that this project should be concieved, gestate and grow until its final maturity, we have been doing this silently, as life does, for sometime now and have decided to finally make this concept known.”
As time goes by Reigndear will be adding new tracks and eventually, mastered versions which will be available only for purchase, but hope that fans will collect the free and unmastered versions and enjoy the growth and final blooming, the way honeybees enjoy the coming of spring.
